Salon Cherie "All Things Lovely" Blog No. 3: All Things Highlights
Posted on Apr 11th, 2010 by Receptionist Carol | 0 Comments
Hello, Austin (and other) hair fans!
Our latest blog edition is all about highlights. We're all about changing up your look for summer with a lovely sun-kissed look. Here's a quick list of some options you have for lightening those locks:
Weaving and Slicing can create natural highlights that blend well with your base color. Slicing can give a more dramatic, all over highlighted look as well.
Chunky highlights offer fun, dramatic piecing that can blend with your base or offer a bright pop of color.
Balayage, a European highlighting technique, is becoming more popular in America thanks to celebrities like SJP and Giselle. Lightener is placed on v-shaped sections of the hair from the mid-shaft to the ends, leaving out the roots. The sections of hair are not all completely covered with bleach or color, so the result is a very natural, sunkissed look, made up of both the natural root and the lightened middle and ends. The color will grow out evenly and naturally, so it is easy to maintain.
Highlights can also be created with extensions, like Great Lengths 100% human hair extensions. Check out our extension gallery for some examples. Because of the individually applied pieces of hair, it's easy to blend multiple colors for and match your own highlights or create some new ones!
Highlights are great for gray coverage, too. And face framing highlights can brighten eyes and bring attention to your face! Not to mention a lovely, sunny glow.
Whatever your taste, Salon Cherie's stylists will create a perfect look for you!
Cheers, and Happy Hair, Austin!
